Daniel Hart is a partner in our San Diego office. Dr. Hart's practice focuses on patent prosecution, due diligence and opinion work in the areas of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. In particular, he has expertise in areas including therapeutic compounds, cytofectins, methods of treatment, large-scale gene discovery, target validation, screening assays, genomics, nucleic acid vectors, antisense nucleic acids, and microarrays. He also has expertise in the mechanical arts, including medical devices and instrumentation utilized in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical fields.
Dr. Hart graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.S. in Microbiology and received his Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics from Washington University in St. Louis for his work on transcription factors which direct expression from the avian myeloblastosis virus long terminal repeats. His experiments involved cloning genes encoding transcription factors, in vitro translation, in vivo and invitro footprinting and retroviral vectors.
Dr. Hart received his J.D. from New York University. He is admitted to the State Bar of California and registered before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Dr. Hart is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.
Dr. Hart joined the firm in 1995 and became a partner in 2000.
